2010 Travel Team Tryouts
o Tryouts are Monday, May 3rd 2010. A rainout is unlikely – show up rain or shine.
o Tryouts begin at 5:30p SHARP! You will need to check in at the registration area when you arrive and will receive instructions where you will need to go. Check-In begins at 5:00p.
o Wear your current GLMM team jersey for identification purposes. You MUST have your jersey, sliding pants, cup (if applicable), practice uniform pants, hat and glove to try-out.
o Be prepared for 3 simulation drills on which you will be rated:
o Batting: hitting in the batting cage
o Fielding: taking grounders at shortstop and throwing to first
o Outfield: catching pop-ups and throwing home.
o You will also have the option to tryout for pitcher.
o "No-shows" will not be allowed on the travel team. If you cannot make the tryouts, contact Anne Quinn prior to May 3rd, no exceptions.
o Bring a copy of your birth certificate and confirm you are in the right age group. Incorrect age will result in the teams’ disqualification from tournament play.
Ø A participant born on or between May 1, 2000 and April 30, 2001, is age 9
Ø A participant born on or between May 1, 1999 and April 30, 2000, is age 10
Ø A participant born on or between May 1, 1998 and April 30, 1999, is age 11
Ø A participant born on or between May 1, 1997 and April 30, 1998, is age 12
· Tryout forms are due into the concession stand no later than Sunday, May 1st 2010. They will be collected at the close of field; any forms turned in after May 1st or on day of tryouts will incur a $25.00 late fee.
Please keep in mind that not everyone may make the team; give it your best shot and be a good sport whatever happens.
